chad
reichert received his undergraduate degree in graphic design from
valparaiso university, attended graduate school at the california
institute of
arts and completed his mfa in graphic design from the minneapolis
college of art and design.
chad is the proprietor of spirit3design, a studio specializing in graphic design and typographic endeavors. he has been recognized by various organizations, including the american center for design and case circle of excellence. his writings have appeared in various publications including the recently released "teaching motion design." he has lectured nationally on various topics including technology, typography and motion design. his recent presentations include papers at “schools of thought III” and “massaging media” design education conferences in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
chad is also an assistant
professor at the college for creative studies
in detroit. he teaches time-based media, typography,
visual
communications and graphic design
history. his students have won numerous awards for projects completed in his class including: adobe achievement, cmyk student showcase, aiga detroit design re:view and the university and college design association.
chad is currently serving as programming chair on the board of the aiga detroit chapter, the professional association for design. his programming focus has been developing initiatives that celebrate the rich heritage of michigan graphic design while seeking to acknowledge it's role on the local and state-wide levels.
